Eco-friendliness at PosterGarden

EcoKnit – Used for our Fabric Popups and the Sophora Tensioned Fabric Display, our EcoKnit fabric comes from the Enviro-Tex® Plus line of eco-friendly fabrics. These consist of 100% post-consumer waste and Repreve® yarn, an environmentally-friendly yarn made from recycled polyester and plastic bottles. And not only does it conserve resources and reduce energy consumption, but EcoKnit has great definition and presents a very high quality print.

EcoWeave  — A dye-sublimated woven polyester made entirely from recycled plastic bottles, EcoWeave prints graphics with an eye-catching brilliance, hangs flat and resists wrinkles. It is an ideal environmentally-friendly graphic option for PosterGarden’s banner stands, and because of a unique pre-treatment, inks sit on top of the fabric, yielding brighter colors and sharper line deinition while preserving the fabric’s soft touch.

EcoCarpet — Ideal for PosterGarden’s PopUps, EcoCarpet is a soft, non-woven polyester material made from Eco-fi™, a polyester fiber derived from 100 percent post consumer recycled plastic bottles. Display panels with EcoCarpet are available for any of PosterGarden’s PopUps, from the 6-foot Tabletop to the 20-foot Serpentine. Using EcoCarpet on one popup display keeps about 80 plastic bottles out of the landfill.

Bamboo X-Banner — One of our most environmentally-friendly displays, the Bamboo X-Banner features a support frame constructed of sturdy and sustainable bamboo. The X-Banner can also be outfitted with graphics printed on EcoWeave, a dye-sublimated woven polyester made entirely from plastic bottles. Combined, the X-Banner’s EcoWeave graphics and bamboo supports add up to one of the most environmentally-friendly portable displays on the market today.

Printing - At the beginning of 2008, PosterGarden switched from a more standard printing method to a leading-edge UV curable printing process. With a brand new Vutek QS2000 UV Flatbed and Roll to Roll printer, we not only upped the quality and brilliance of our graphics, but the new printing process, which uses UV light to instantly cure water-based inks, produces lower levels of volatile organic compounds. In addition, we print our fabric graphics with a dye-sublimation process that uses water-based inks. These inks not only produce lower levels of VOCs, but when paired with a recycled material like EcoKnit, they create a product that is certifiably green.

Shipping - To help offset some carbon emissions, we ship some of our inbound freight using a company called EA Logistics. The company offsets the CO2 emissions created during transport, essentially producing carbon-neutral freight.
