PosterGarden president begins new adventure – and welcomes a familiar successor

Nearly two decades after he founded what would become PosterGarden, Travis Rigby is stepping out of his role as president. But he won’t be going far, and his successor will come from fairly nearby, as well. Rigby will still own the company and manage all of its systems. His brother, Michael Rigby, PosterGarden’s longtime Vice President of Operations, is now President at PosterGarden.

“This is an exciting time for all of us here at PosterGarden,” said Travis Rigby, who started the company as MarComm Design in 1995. “After growing this company from a dream into what it is today, I’m excited to head off on a new adventure while still staying super close with PosterGarden. And I know that it’s in the most capable hands with Mike taking over as president.”

Michael Rigby joined the company in 2001. Since then, he has held nearly every position in every department, from project management and sales to overseeing production and, most recently, heading up operations and product development. In the past few years, he has developed some of PosterGarden’s most innovative displays, including the Protia Panel Display, the Varia.Lux and the recently-released Varia.Sophora Fabric Display. He also guided the successful launch of PosterGarden’s wholesale business in 2013.

“Travis has done an amazing job building PosterGarden into the company that it is today,” Michael Rigby said. “I’m really excited to take over for him and continue on the path that’s lead us to becoming a true leader in this industry. And the great thing is that Travis is not leaving PosterGarden at all, just shifting roles.”

Travis Rigby’s next adventure has yet to be announced, but news of it will be coming soon. In the meantime, Michael Rigby’s vision for PosterGarden includes continued growth in the company’s wholesale business and more new displays that continue to define the portable display industry. He also sees the company continuing to make its customers’ lives easier through its longstanding commitment to responsive, expedient customer service.

“This will be a great next chapter in the nearly 20-year history of PosterGarden,” Travis Rigby said. “We’ve always been big on evolving and changing to keep the company – and ourselves – strong and vibrant. Here we go again.”
