Acrobat

InDesign | Illustrator | Photoshop | Acrobat | Quark

Acrobat is a great tool. You may use it to either send us files for output, or as a proof for us to verify content. Here are guidelines for both:

Sending us a proof: Luckily Acrobat has some great defaults built in. Let’s start there. First, select the Screen default. Then go to Job Options and change the following:

  • Under Fonts: click Embed all Fonts, and unclick Subset Embedded Fonts.
  • Under Color: set Color Management to Off.

Sending us an Acrobat file for Output: Again, use a built-in default – in this case select Press. Then go to Job Options and change the following:

  • When you create the Postscript file, or print or Export to Acrobat, be sure to include bleed and crop marks, and make sure they appear on the final output.
  • Under Fonts: Click Embed all Fonts, and unclick Subset Embedded Fonts.
  • Under Color: Set Color Management to Off.
